peanut butter blossoms

valentine's day is by far my least favorite holiday. sure i like flowers, but i'd much rather receive them any other day "just because". but if there is one thing i like about valentine's day its the excuse to indulge in some sweets. peanut butter blossoms are a favorite of mine, but surprisingly i've never made them myself. i used this recipe which made for a soft and not too sweet cookie. for a little valentine's day spin on the classic i topped them with a chocolate heart instead of the normal hershey kiss.

by far the best thing to come out of this little blog are the amazing people i've met, reconnected with or collaborated with through it. a couple weekends ago i met up with my old friend jess, a friend from jr high, to take some photos. we've only seen each other a handful of times since those awkward pre-teen years, but always stayed loosely in touch and lucky for me she has become a super talented photographer over the years. i absolutely love everything she captured and had so much fun catching up with her. click on over to her site to see more of her amazing work.

hit a groove with waking up early this week, one of my new years resolutions, and its made such a difference in my days! i love having some time to myself and being able to take walter on an extra long and cold, yet refreshing, walk. much better way to start the day than hitting the snooze 5 times, checking emails on my phone from bed and then rushing like crazy to get ready.


and now, a super relaxing weekend ahead. 

oreo stuffed fudge brownies

i seem to have developed a bit of a penchant for stuffed sweets. first it was chocolate chip cookies filled with snickers and now, super fudgy brownies with oreos wrapped inside. these were gobbled up in a quick minute at my last family party.

i've grown so tired of black tights and can hardly wait until tights free weather is here. 

but until that day comes i'm breaking up my daily black tights routine with some jewel toned ones. this emerald pair has become my new go to and they are surprisingly more versatile than i originally thought.

i love how a 4 day work week flies by so much faster than a normal week. and particularly nice to see the weekend already given my plans - a couple exciting blog collaborations and dinner at nightwood which i've been wanting to try for the last year. hope you all have a great weekend as well!
