rediscovered these jeans recently and they've become my favorite weekend go to. paired here with a lovely pair of heels but this weekend i'll be sporting them with a pair of loafers or my comfy converses.

wore this to a long overdue dinner date with my girlfriends saturday night at nellcote. it was the perfect event to take out this beautiful brian atwood clutch.


i picked up this airy little tank at the michigan avenue neiman marcus. it's from their new luxury essentials line which is full of simple yet refined basics - the perfect building blocks to any outfit. this tank hangs so perfectly and i really love the chiffon layer that peaks out from the bottom.

on saturday a couple of my friends and i threw a bridal shower for our good friend. we kept things fairly simple and drew some inspiration from her wedding plans. the mimosa bar was my favorite touch and i can't wait to try it out at another little get together with some new combinations.

happy to be home after a work week spent in santa monica - although there are definitely worst places to spend the week than along the beach.

  

new again

it's no surprise to see trends repeat themselves but the resurgence of neon and midriffs in this season's collections may be one of the first times i'm experiencing a trend both the first and second time around. and while i don't feel too old to sport the trends - because thankfully they are both much more refined this time around - i'm realizing how quickly time flies and things change. i can't remember the last time i went out two night in a row, it takes email chains of planning to get a girls night together and i kind of miss my tiny little nose ring i wore throughout college and the dive bars that were a nightly ritual. 


so here's to showing some skin this weekend, sporting neon hues... and drinking a cold keystone light (my college brew of choice).

salted chocolate chip cookies

i haven't been in the mood for baking lately but late saturday night i had a craving for something sweet and i just happened to have all the makings for these salted chocolate chip cookies on hand. the touch of sea salt and mixture of chocolate chips and cocoa nibs lends a special little touch to the normal chocolate chip cookie.
